VIDEO // You Not Shoot, We Not Shoot - the Christmas Truce story

On Christmas Day 1914, German and English soldiers decided to stop killing each other and play football instead. A hundred years later, the ‘match of the trenches’ is still the symbol of humanity in an inhuman war. Belgian author Marijn Sillis wrote a book about the role of football in the unofficial ceasefires. ‘You Not Shoot, We Not Shoot’ was published in 2014, but the story remains eternal.
