In 2019 Sheffield FC celebrated its 162nd anniversary, making it the oldest football club in the world. And in 2013 Sheffield FC chairman Richard Tims started the Club of Pioneers: a worldwide network of the oldest continuing association football clubs from each country. Once a year some of these pioneer clubs gather for a friendly tournament: the Pioneers Cup. We were there to taste some of football’s history.
